Our Pro-Race Pontiac harmonic dampers are NHRA accepted and meet SFI-18-1 specs. The dampers have a special elastomer core that transfers heat much faster than standard elastomers These Pontiac dampers are tested to 18,000 rpm - 50 percent higher than SFI specs require--have engraved timing marks, and a rust-resistant finish. These race dampers are for drag race, circle track, and marine use. Pro-Race balancers feature a standard 4 bolt Pontiac pattern only and standard size pulley centering hub.

Their proven elastomer is designed and tuned to eliminate harmful crankshaft harmonics that cause parasitic horsepower loss. They are actually two dampers in one--a 4 in. diameter inner damper and a 7 in. diameter outer damper in two shells that bolt to the crank hub. Pontiac Crankshaft Bolt and Washer
As the crankshaft flexes, the damper absorbs incredible amounts of energy. These damper bolt kits from ARP will ensure that your balancer is locked into position. They feature a 1/4 in. thick wide-area washer and an extra tall 12-point head that accepts a deep socket to eliminate the fear of stripping the head.
